Elevate Update: August 2022
Hello Team!
Welcome to this month’s Elevate Update!
Newsflashes from me:
July Board Approval of our Strategy
- Strategy process: Thanks to all of you who contributed great ideas to our Strategy 2028 process! We incorporated a re-orientation of our Purpose, your input on our strategy pillars, projects from the Away Day, and exciting new growth products.
- July Board: The readout from the July Board was:
- Great endorsement for meeting our FY target in FY22. Well done team!
- Strong agreement with our strategy, particularly of note: our shift to high value, higher growth clients and markets, re-orienting our purpose through B-corp status, and investing in our people in the form of training, bonus and affordable salary enhancements. All very good news for us!
- In fact the Board’s belief in us was so strong that there was even a question on where and how we could go further! Mauro and I were both keen to ensure realism in our planning, but I wanted you to know that our efforts and successes are noted!
- The Board is pleased with the remediation activities we are undertaking, particularly the Design Refresh, to address our slip in the FT Rankings in a systematic way. Thank you for all your are doing to play a part in this.
Strategic Growth and Learning Initiatives:
- Great Wins!: The Open portfolio had delivery of another great GMP this summer as well as a number of other prorgammes, and Custom are very happy to report that the BNPP project is our latest big bet WIN! This is a unique partnership between CISL, CJBS and CAO.
- Vacancies: With our budget approval comes the opening of an exciting set of growth vacancies on our team! Please share on Linked In, reach out to your networks and do think yourself about these career growth opportunities (internal applicants are very much encouraged).
- Elevate Academies: Coming out of the Away Day and the People investments in our budget, congratulations to the inaugural class of 11 team members who completed the initial APM project management training this month! I’ve heard very good feedback on the take-aways, and we are looking forward to the Elevate Academies to continue to enhance our practice and invest in our team!
- Elevate Hour: Sharing Successes and Learnings: Maria and a team of interested people are re-vamping our All Staff meeting agenda! I am keen to turn this meeting over to the team as a way of freeing and showcasing innovation, focusing on our key successes and learnings in our strategy pillars, and recognising you and your great teamwork. Stay tuned and get involved! Let us know topics you would like to see featured.
- Elevate Team Hub Microsite: Sophia is helping us revamp our internal comms, and is working on a great team microsite which she will debut imminently! This will be a place where we can post updates, start conversations, share team successes and generally stay in touch more regularly. Ideas? Let Sophia know.
- Design Refreshes: Thank you to Barclays, GMP and other programmes now in the midst of exciting Design Refreshes led by Ajmal. This programme of work is one of our most important this year, and I have loved attending early refreshes and hearing fantastic, creative ideas from across the faculty and our team.
- BD Trips: Some of the sales team are planning to accompany Mauro and his External Affairs teams to business development trips this Autumn in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Dubai. Do you have personal or professional connections in these locations who may be good prospects for us in Exec Ed? Let us know!
Rest and Refresh:
- Holiday season: ‘Tis the season of rejuvenation, and I hope you all have taken some time off with family, friends and loved ones to just enjoy the freedom of a sweltering summer without pandemic restrictions! We’re encouraging all teams to arrange robust cover so no one is dialling in on holiday. Switch off!
- MHFA: Derrick and Claire have done a great job in extending our Mental Health First Aider team to ensure we carry on this excellent practice. They will be updating in due course on future plans, and thank you to those who have volunteered to get involved!
And with that, I am doing my own signing off! I’ve got a few weeks planned with my boys and family enjoying rest and recharging! I hope very much you also enjoy or have enjoyed yours! I am looking so forward to what our Autumn holds as a team….!
Warmly
Beth
